Privacy policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use /tools. The short version: there are no accounts, your files and text are processed in your own browser, we don’t use analytics, ads, or tracking, and we never sell data.

Who we are

/tools is a free collection of online tools, operated by the operator of /tools (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the website and this policy. You can reach us about anything here at privacy@yourdomain.com.

At a glance

What happens
AccountsNone. You never sign up, log in, or give us an email address.
Your files and textProcessed in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers.
CookiesNone.
Analytics, ads, trackingNone.
Stored on your deviceOnly your light or dark theme choice, if you pick one.
Server logsStandard technical logs kept by our hosting provider, Hostinger.

What you put into the tools

Everything you enter into a tool stays on your device. That includes the links, text, Wi-Fi passwords, and contact details you type into the QR code generator, and any images or other files you add, such as a logo. The work happens in your browser using code downloaded from our site, and the results (for example, a QR code image) are created on your device and saved straight to it.

Some tools may need to download extra files to work, such as a processing model for images or audio. That is a one-way download to your browser: your own files still aren’t sent anywhere.

If a tool ever needs to send your file to a server to do its job, we’ll say so clearly on that tool’s page before you use it, and update this policy to explain what is sent, why, and how long it is kept.

Information collected automatically

When you visit any website, your browser sends some technical information with each request. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, may record this in server logs to deliver the site, keep it secure, and investigate problems or abuse:

  • your IP address;
  • your browser and operating system (the “user agent”);
  • the pages and files requested, the time of the request, and the referring page, if your browser sends one.

We don’t use these logs to build profiles of visitors, and we don’t combine them with other data. They are kept only as long as our hosting provider retains them for operational and security purposes.

Cookies and local storage

We don’t set any cookies. If you choose light or dark mode, your browser saves that choice in local storage so the site looks the way you like next time. It never leaves your device. Details are in the cookie notice.

Legal bases (GDPR)

Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, the only personal data we handle is the technical log data described above. We process it based on our legitimate interests in delivering the website and keeping it secure and free of abuse.

Who we share data with

  • Hostinger, which hosts and serves the website and handles the server logs described above.
  • Authorities, if the law requires us to disclose information.

We don’t sell or rent personal data, and we don’t share it with advertisers or data brokers. Our hosting provider may process data outside your country under appropriate safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Because your files and text are processed on your own device, there is no stored copy on our side that could be exposed. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your browser and device up to date.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and California privacy law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal data about you, and to object to or restrict how it is used. Because we don’t keep accounts or content, there is usually nothing about you to hand over beyond short-lived server logs, but you can always ask at privacy@yourdomain.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

/tools is a general-audience website and doesn’t knowingly collect personal data from children. Since there are no accounts or sign-up forms, we don’t ask anyone for personal details.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this policy when we add tools or change how the site works. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects how your information is handled, we’ll make it clear on the site before it takes effect.
